Eray Idil

Eray Idil was born in Ankara-Turkey at August 25th, 1973. He lived in Ankara until elementary school. He started his education in Manisa Gazi Elementary school. After 3rd grade he moved to Germany and lived there for three years. After his elementary education in Germany he moved back to Turkey.

He finished his secondary education in  Izmir which he called City of his Dreams. After High School he got accepted for Physical Science Education program from Gazi University in Ankara in 1992. His life was really active in University. He met his wife in 1993, started to practice calligraphy in 1994, art fairs, art exhibitions, etc.

Involved with Turkish Calligraphy...

Eray Idil learned Turkish Calligraphy from one of his friends named Ismail Uzumlu, in year 1994. Their low income in university was the main reason for open this art to public. They started to write peoples and companies names on special cards on holidays. Many people were interested to get their names written in a beautiful way. In a short time they were famous in Ankara. After a year working together Eray Idil went to his own way and attended to different Small and Big fairs in Ankara.

He distinguished Turkish Calligraphy in time, Published the first Web site and the first book called Sihirli Kalem (Magic Pen) of Turkish Calligraphy. Today, Eray Idil lives in Nevada, USA and continuous his art with an Art Gallery and organizes Turkish and Islamic Art Exhibitions in USA.

Ozlem Idil

Ozlem Idil was born at January 06, 1976 in Aydin-Turkey. She finished her first and secondary education in her home town Aydin. In year 1993 she went to Ankara for her undergraduate education. She met with her husband and learned Turkish calligraphy in a short time. She attended to Kocatepe and Sultanahmet Fairs for years and practiced Turkish Calligraphy with her husband.
